Christmas Gift Jars
These are awesome gifts to make for friends and family without going over budget this Christmas! They are pretty, fun, and have a nice personal touch.
Inspiration How-To
You will need:
Small glass jars w/ clips (any craft store)
Scrap booking paper/Card stock
Holiday/Letter stickers
Ribbon
Glue & Tape
Candy (any kind)
1. Choose a patterned paper and cut it length-wise so that it is wide enough to cover the bottom half of the jar.
2. Attach the paper to the inside of the jar (using scotch tape).
3. Choose a ribbon to wrap around the outside to cover the paper line. Glue (hot glue gun works the best) a bow onto the wrapped ribbon using the same style of ribbon.
4. Cut out a circular top to place on the lid. Scrap booking embellishments can be added to the top for a little flair.
5. Name tags can be added using string, card stock, and letter stickers.
6. Don't forget to add the candy of your choice! I used chocolate covered espresso beans to create a slightly elegant look, but any small candy would look great.
7. Be creative with these & don't be afraid to try different ideas!
Personalized Magnets
Here is another great gift idea for friends and family. These magnents are so sweet and add such a personal touch. I can't take credit for these, all the credit goes to my girl, Ann! They were so fun to make while drinking some hot cocoa and listening to Christmas music.
Inspiration How-To
You will need:
Glass "stones" (any size or shape as long as they are clear)
Scrapbooking letters
Card stock
Photographs (optional)
Scissors
Craft glue
Paint brush
Small magnets
1. If using scrapbooking letters, stick to a piece of card stock and cut to fit the size of the glass piece.
2. If using a photograph, trace and cut the photograph to the size of the glass piece.
3. Cover the entire letter/card stock or photograph with craft glue using a small paint brush.
4. Stick the glued item to the glass piece and hold tight to ensure adhesion.
5. Glue a magnet to the back of the photograph or letter (a hot glue gun would also work well) and you're done.
Harvest Pumpkins
This is such a fun, festive, and classic way to decorate pumpkins for the fall season. It's super simple to do and looks great as a centerpiece, spread around the house, or on the front porch as decoration.
Inspiration How-To
You will need:
Pumpkins (any size)
Metallic acrylic paint (any color)
All-purpose sealer
Paint brush
Newspaper or wax paper
Glitter (gold or silver)
1. Make sure the pumpkins are very clean & dry.
2. Mix the all-purpose sealer with the paint for the first coat.
3. Coat the entire pumpkin with the paint/sealer mix & place pumpkins on wax paper.
4. Let the first coat dry completely before adding a second coat of paint, when it's dry, fully coat the pumpkin with a second coat of paint.
5. While the paint is still wet, sprinkle glitter on the top of the pumpkin.
6. Let pumpkin sit & dry for a couple of hours before moving it.
